Introduction to the Court

    The Appellate Court is the Judicial Branch of the University of Colorado Student Union.  The Court is established by Article IV the UCSU Constitution. There are seven Justices on the Court, each appointed by the Executive Branch and ratified by the Legislative Branch. 

     The Court has final authority on questions of constitutional interpretation.  Questions of of constitutional interpretation can be submitted by any student.  The Court also has the final decision on appeals of UCSU fees.

     The Court operates under its own bylaws, which are known as the Appellate Court Rules.

     The basic goal of the Court is to operate in the best interest of UCSU constitutional law providing substantial justice to all parties involved through basic fairness and efficient Court procedure.  All decisions by the Court are binding and valid on all affected parties.
