University of Colorado Student Union
Legislative Council
UCSU Legislative Council is divided into two houses: the
Council of Colleges and Schools and Representative Council.
Both houses meet together as Legislative Council on
Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. in UMC 247 during the spring and fall
semesters. During the summer semester, meetings are held
every other week.
Legislative Council Meetings are open to the public and
agendas are published online.
Individually, CCS meets on
Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. in UMC 353, and Representative
Council meets at 6:15 p.m. in UMC 245. They both consider
funding requests from student organizations for events and
travel. For the 2005-2006 fiscal year, each house has around
$23,000 to allocate according to the UCSU Constitution and
their own By Laws.
The Legislative Council President and two
Vice Presidents, elected internally from each house, preside
over
Legislative Council meetings.
